General Information:
Phoenixweld SW18Mn is a submerged arc welding wire for welding of mild steel and 490MPa medium tensile steels. It is recommended for a wide range of applications including shipbuilding, steel structures, steel pipeliner, pressure vessels, and heavy machinery. It contains optimum levels of manganese and silicon to ensure good performance with a variety of fluxes in many applications and welding conditions.

Notes:
Flux used with the wire should be dry and free of impurities. It should be rebaked according to manufacturer's recommendations if there is any risk of moisture in the flux. Choose a flux that matches the application requirements for surface condition, material thickness, and desired mechanical properties.
Contact tips should be replaced regularly to avoid arc instability and poor wire direction due to tip wear.
